Dynamite Radio Special Interview with Pst Ubong Titus the senior Pastor of Holy Zion Deliverance Ministeries.Ubong Titus is a multiple instrumentalist, gracefully endowed with song writing with decades of experience on stage as a Gospel Artiste who have performed in large gathering, such as crusades, conferences, revival meetings music concerts and numerous church programs.
Let’s read on, as he tells his story on the journey so far,over to you Sir.
Alright Dynamite Radio thank you so much for this great opportunity to share my story.
Ubong Titus Umanah is my name. Aka the seasoned minister. Ubong Abasi in my native language means,”The glory of God”.
Ubong Titus Umanah is a Nigeria gospel musician.A singer, song writer and instrumentalist.
In late 80s God used to show me vision concerning singing and running of church, So I started in Redeemed Christian Church as a chorester and from the choir level, God promoted me to become a Praise and Worship leader then, we used to have a program called let’s go fishing which is still on till date.
This I did from one area to another area until I gained admission into the higher institution.
Back then, I formed a band call God’s foundation band Now God’s foundation music ministry, we performed in many programs. So I can say I am called into music ministry.
Sir, when did you release your first Album and how many do far?
My first album was released in year 2000.REVIVAL. Second album 2013.NA ME GO BLESS. THIRD album 2022, THIS YEAR to the glory of God..
Recording experience ?. It’s was great and amazing, I mean the recording sections was a great experience and by God’s grace God helped me out.
Sir,How should the Government be involved in the music industry?
Government involvement in the music industry,Yes,I think the Government should be highly involved ,it should be taken seriously especially gospel music industry by giving helping hand to the gospel musicians because there are people with the gift of singing and with good songs or content that we have not heard,due to lack sponsorship or financial limitation.
The Nigerian Government should come up with good policies backed up with implementations that will encourage and reward gospel artiste for their effort.
It is important to know that Gospel music has been a major source of encouragement and healing to our society especially in the times we are living in.
Gospel music is needed to change or heal our society spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
Which Music Body do you belong?
I belongs to COSON copy right association of Nigeria.
There are Laws in place and I am sure is quite effective but more is expected of the government to put more policies that will aid music destribution and also protect intellectual property of the artist.
Gospel musicians are passing positive messages to the world through gospel songs. Different musicians have different challenges, what’s your challenge?
My own challenge now is how my song will be a blessing and to save people and how my songs will remain relevant as they listen to it.
Which Gospel Artiste or music inspires you ?
A coupled of Nigeria gospel artists inspires me, I love good song, the lyrics and the meaning is what drives me. Some of the artists that inspire me are pamna pacy Paul. Bring down your glory.,Frank Edward, Buchi, Sinach, mercy Chinno,
Steve Crown, etc.
While abroad Don Moen and Women of Faith.
I want to remain focus by using my gifts to praise and worship God and to be a blessing to the body of Christ and to ensure that the gospel music industry grows.
I want to be remembered as a song minister and by the positive impacts I made in the lives of people and I want to always make myself available to be used of God at all times.
Has the church been of encouragement to you?
Yeah, this is my problem because some of the local churches are not helping matters at all which they should, the church should be a major backup or backbone to gospel musicians but unfortunately it’s not the reality, also the church should learn to market the giftings they have.
There are people who go to church because of Praise and worship, these people get connected to God even before the Word is preached by the Pastor.
Any collaboration?
Presently not yet, but I am looking forward to having a great sections with a couple of them soon.
Any contract so far?
It’s been a gradual process of course I am doing that now by myself under God’s foundation music ministry to create more awareness and I know a change will come soon.
Do you see yourself as an upcoming Artiste?
I can really say I am an upcoming artiste,because I have been in the system for some years now, it’s just that my name Ubong Titus Umanah Is not heard much, but very, very soon God will announce me.
How much support do you think you need?
All the support I need now is love.
This year is a full album with 8 tracks songs,so go look for it and buy or download it.
Another thing encouragement I need from my fans is invitation, invite me to any good perform like church programs etc,and also follow the link and to download and share the song.
Which Ministry do you belong?
I am the senior Pastor of Holy Zion Deliverance Ministeries, Aka Chapel of Praise and Power.
What else do you do outside music?
I am also into Real Estate and properties, we buy and sell. (UMANAH PROPERTIES)
Sir your advice to upcoming Artiste?
My advice is,if you are an upcoming artiste keep going and stay focused, do the right things, be prayerful, stay away from sin. Let God be first in your doings, never compare yourself with someone and don’t relent in your services to God Almighty and humanity. God will surely announce you and use you when your time comes.
